Sadie and her cat, "Geraldine"

My little dachshund, Chloe, died in January and a few days later, this black cat started hanging around out house. The cat was skinny, so we started leaving cat food on the porch. We decided it was a female and we named her Geraldine. Well....she has become "our cat"...and then we found out this past week, that "she" used to live next door with our neighbors....but I don't think they mind sharing Geraldine with us. Also, Sadie is their lab...but Sadie is about half ours, too. She comes over every morning for a dog treat...sleeps over here on our porch at night...and has a ferocious sounding bark. One day last week, it turned cold...and stayed that way the entire day. I walked out on the porch several times and each time, Sadie and Geraldine were curled up beside each other snoozing.

How sweet! And your neighbors don't mind that their pets hang out at your house? I enjoyed browsing back looking at your grandkid photos. Mine are here visiting right now, but leave tomorrow. They are 3 1/2 and 7 months old. Just like yours. I'm going to miss them terribly when they leave!

My neighbors also have another cat...a big yellow cat and she just recently had kittens. This morning I went out on the porch to feed the black cat...and there was the big yellow cat sitting there at the empty food container waiting for some more food to be added. Also...there sat Geraldine, the black cat, and Sadie, the dog. Our neighbors don't mind sharing their animals. Their children are grown and they're not home a lot.
