Geranium Painting

I bought some geraniums for my deck and this was the first one to bloom...thought I'd try to capture it in watercolor before planting it.

This is lovely, Carolyn, I like the pot and the loose shadow beneath. Aren't geraniums fun to paint!

For heavens sake! I came to say, 'Love the washes/blending of those rich colours of the shadow and the pot" but now I'll say "your perky geranium is bright and cheery I guess that we are now seeing the rich colours that you're painting". Lovely.

I especially like the way you have painted the petals - beautiful.

I think you captured it well. I've been wanting to paint flowers too. A lady in the office next to me has a gorgeous orange flowering thing (I don't know what it is) and I need to take a pic so I can paint it. I can't just sit in her office and paint on work hours...pity.
